New Baltimore (United State of America)

Technical centre and production plant.

New Baltimore’s technical centre and production plant consists of 200,000 square foot building. It is currently located on a campus in New Baltimore, Michigan and contains TransNav’ s tooling/engineering operations, Laser die cutting and TransNav Technologies production/assembly facility.

The production of plastic parts is divided within the site as follows:

  • 80% of the parts produced are destined for the automotive sector ;
  • 20% of production is in the non-automotive sector.

It is equipped with around 45 plastic injection mold machines ranging from 140 tunnage to 400 with various technologies: 2 shot, over molding, sequential gating, welding, hot stamping, and assembly capabilities.

OUR HISTORY

  • 1981

     

    TransNav incorporated as a subsidiary of Montreal based FedNav.

  • 1983

     

    The Vreeken family purchased TransNav and began operations in St. Clair Shores, Michigan.

  • 1998

     

    As the organization grew, the corporate headquarters expanded and moved from St. Clair Shores to Mt. Clemens, then to Clinton Township and finally to New Baltimore. Additional growth required ongoing expansion which led to the formation of TransNav S.A. de C.V. in Puebla, Mexico.

  • 2012

     

    TransNav acquired Perfection Components in Danville, Kentucky (now TransNav Technologies – Kentucky) and completed expansion of the TransNav Technologies facility in order to house very large tonnage presses.

  • 2018

     

    TransNav was acquired by Group Plastivaloire a French automotive supplier specializing in the same product such as black functional plastics.
